EDF Renewables and ESB are to hold a series of supply chain events in Scotland to offer local companies the edge in securing work on the 450MW Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm.
Sessions are planned in Aberdeen, Dundee, East Lothian and Fife during the first week in March. All venues will be confirmed at a later date.
NnG’s project team and its Tier 1 contractors will attend each event to give a comprehensive overview of the scope of work to be delivered throughout the project’s construction and highlight potential opportunities available to the local supply chain, said EDF.
A number of local contractors have already been selected to work on the project, including BiFab, which will manufacture “a number” of the 54 jacket foundations.
Neart project director Matthias Haag (pictured) said: “NnG is a fantastic project for Scotland and we are confident that the Scottish supply chain can play a big part in supporting EDF Renewables and our Tier 1 contractors in delivering this project successfully.
“We want to maximise the local supply chain and employment opportunities as much as we can and that is why we are hosting these supply chain events in March as it will allow our Tier 1 contractors to give the supply chain a detailed insight of the project.”
He added: “We would really appreciate hearing from any local businesses who are interested in NnG and who feel they have something to offer the project. I would encourage as many businesses as possible to come along to these supply chain events in March.”
