ZAGREB (Croatia), April 27 (SeeNews) – The European Commission said it has approved a Croatian scheme with a total budget of 54 million euro ($57 million) to support investments in logistics and distribution centres for fruits and vegetables.
“The aim of the scheme is to support producer organisations in the fruit and vegetables sector to invest in building and equipping logistics and distribution centres, which will improve the competitiveness of the sector,” the Commission said in a statement last week.
The scheme will be funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility and will run until end-June 2026. The support will take the form of direct grants.
The European Commission approved last year a grant of 6.3 billion euro for Croatia under the RRF to help the country emerge stronger from the pandemic.
