District collecting hazardous waste | News, Sports, Jobs


GEAUGA-TRUMBULL HOLDS FREE PROGRAM: The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will hold a free Household Hazardous Waste Collection from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Trumbull Collection Facility, 5138 Enterprise Blvd., Warren.

Residents can recycle oil-based paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, anti-freeze, propane tanks, batteries and other types of household hazardous wastes not accepted at the curb by waste haulers.

The following items will not be accepted: latex paint, trash, tires, construction debris or trailer loads of material. For questions about acceptable materials, call the Solid Waste District office at 330-675-2673 or 800-707-2673, or see a list at www.gottago green.org.

This program is free and open only to residents of Geauga and Trumbull counties. No material accepted from commercial businesses.

The Trumbull collection facility also is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday through Oct. 28 for household hazardous waste. Residents can drop off electronic waste (e-waste) and appliances free of charge every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
