THE ROLE: Director, Vendor & Supply Chain Management
The Director will be a seasoned post production professional with a background in network television and episodic production. The Director will be responsible in maintaining and growing the inner mechanics behind the Global Acquisitions Services teams’ relationships with its suppliers, production partners and external vendors along with working closely with internal A+E partners to enhance our current workflows. The director will be acting as a technical consultant on production and post production workflows across a variety of A+E’s formats, including scripted, non-scripted, live, movies, episodic series, short-form and mid-form.
This role aids in the execution of global media strategies, is often the subject matter expert (SME) for providing post production best practices and technical recommendations and solutions, and will respond to ad hoc requests from internal partners, content creators and other media vendors. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, problem solver who has an attention to detail and can pivot quickly and is calm under pressure.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Director, Vendor & Supply Chain Management reports to the VP, Global Acquisitions Services and is responsible for building partnerships, workflows and overall tracking of supplier trends and performance. The position will be tasked with daily tracking of supplier performance and to provide critical feedback to both suppliers and the acquisitions team with the goal to create more efficient content deliveries downstream and to lower overall technical failure rate. The Director will serve as the point of contact for our suppliers across multiple functional areas and represent the Global Acquisitions team during early stages of onboarding through handoff to their assigned Acquisitions Manager.
By monitoring KPIs such as failure rate, tracking onboarding and offboarding behaviors and overseeing issue tracking response times the Director will become a strategic partner acting as a conduit for the Global Acquisitions team with our suppliers. With feedback from the team the Director will recommend workflow modifications, technical upgrade and/or identify business opportunities (I.E able to recommend online facilities based on past performances) to our suppliers. The role of the Director is to ensure that our suppliers are able to perform their work efficiently and effectively while continuing to evolve to meet A&E’s delivery requirements.
While based in Stamford, the Director position will be required to work from home as per the current company policies. During the WFH period the candidate will be tasked with building out technical workflows and technical specifications using Avid, Adobe Premiere and various other supporting software. You will be asked to remotely engage with our partners on semi-regular basis using video conference tools and conducting shared screens workshops to better understand our vendors technical workflows along with educating them on our best practices. The Director should also be knowledgeable in current WFH post production and production models that are currently in use across the industry. You must be able to pivot with the needs of the business and apply your ingenuity, industry knowledge and creativity to develop new opportunities and approaches while also taking a long view towards future technological advancements.
