DeForrest R. ‘Dee’ Noyes II

DeForrest R. “Dee” Noyes II, 79, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday with family present. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Dee was born Nov. 6, 1942, in Sioux City to Mabel (Davis) Noyes and DeForrest Noyes. He grew up in Sioux City and attended local schools before graduating from Central High School. He was united in marriage to Judith (Judy) Marolf on Sept. 18, 1965, at Offutt Air Force Base Chapel.
He attended Refrigeration and Air Conditioning School in Omaha before serving as a machinist mate in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Randolph. Upon discharge from the Navy Dee performed various jobs in the heating and air conditioning industry, before a long-term position as manager of Linweld, a specialty gas and welding supply wholesaler, where he retired after 20 plus years.
Dee was a 50-year member of Morningside Lodge 615, Sioux City Scottish Rite, and a Past Patron and 50-year member of Loess Hills #502 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Peace Reformed Church. Dee enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing that was instilled in him when he was a child by his Uncle George and Cousin Henry. His greatest relaxation and happiness was a cabin in Minnesota.
Dee is survived by his wife Judy of 56 years; sons Joseph of Aurora, Neb., and Darin (Amy) of Hawarden, Iowa; eight cherished grandchildren Yvonne, Nickolas, Emilee, Christian, Jace, Ava, Journey and Justice; seven great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Deanna and Miles Klosterman of Sioux City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jan and Gene West of Greensburg, Kan.; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mabel and DeForrest Noyes.
The family has requested that memorials be directed to Peace Reformed Church.
