Patna, Jan 28 (UNI) Deadline of paddy procurement has been extended till February 21 in Bihar.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while reviewing the progress of
paddy procurement in Bihar, in a high level meeting, directed the officials to extend the deadline of paddy procurement till February 21 in the Bihar. He also directed the officials to accelerate the process of paddy procurement to give its benefits to larger number of farmers.
Mr Kumar asked the officials to ensure that no willing farmer could be left out from the benefits of procurement. Farmers should be paid against procurement of
paddy as soon as possible, he added.
Chief Minister directed all District Magistrates to visit in their respective areas and meet the farmers to know their grievances relating to paddy
procurement. He directed for evolving better coordination between Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS)
for smooth procurement of
paddy.
Earlier, Secretary of Cooperative Vandana Praiyasi
gave presentation before the ChiefMinister Mr Kumar, on all aspects of paddy procurement. All District Magistrates and
senior officials of state government also participated
in the meeting.
