DHAKA, Bangladesh — More and more natural disasters are devastating communities all over the world, especially those in developing nations. Cyclone Amphan, one of the most powerful cyclones in the last twenty years, recently hit Bangladesh and India. As a result, cyclone Amphan in Bangladesh has destroyed communities and displaced millions of residents.
There is a climate migration crisis due to the increase in frequency and severity of natural disasters worldwide, like Cyclone Amphan. Repeated disasters leave many people in developing countries homeless, so they have no choice but to live elsewhere. Therefore, when discussing natural disasters, we must consider women, refugees and farmers in impoverished communities as well as our own.

When considering the impact of natural disasters, we must center our conversations around the women, refugees and farmers of developing countries. They are the most impacted by these events. As such, residents in more developed countries can make a commitment to provide aid overseas. One way to help is by donating to organizations working hard to save the environment and combat global poverty. However, it is also important to urge Congress members to increase the budget for international aid and work hard to pass environmentally friendly laws.
