The Creative Services Director will be the powerhouse of this close-knit team’s operations, seamlessly managing the creative output and fueling the morale of our highly efficient team.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Creative Services Director is responsible for the overall management of creative resources within The studio, ensuring consistent delivery of creative projects to market.
The ideal candidate will have a multidisciplinary background – a proven track record in agency traffic management, strong finished art skills, as well as production management skills. Full Creative Suite knowledge is an absolute must: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Flash and Bridge. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and QuickCut is also important. This is a fast-paced, high pressure yet highly rewarding role that forms part of a close-knit, supportive and social team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Trafficking, scheduling and allocation of jobs and resources within the creative team (currently using Monday.com for resource management)
- Receive creative briefs from account service, ensuring they clear and complete
- Work with studio & account service to prioritise work and deliver realistic timeframes back to Account Managers
- Ensure that outgoing work has been properly checked, meets brand guidelines and has the correct specifications for press, print or digital deployment
- Maintain studio process templates and ensure that they are adhered to.
- Lead weekly Workflow meetings with account service to discussing active job progress, upcoming projects that will inform the resourcing scheduling and possible troubleshooting
- Train new starters on creative process to ensure they are up to speed with current ways of working
- Manage budget and creative time to ensure low-risk effect towards profitability
- Maintain an up-to-date freelancer database, record all studio freelance rates and process freelancer invoices with the finance team
- Manage timesheet completion along with design hours and budget requirements
- Maintaining an uncluttered studio environment: this includes server files and traditional artwork files
- Finished art duties including preparing POS material for print. Working with dielines and templates and checking all artwork is to specifications
- Production management – including liaising with external suppliers for quotes (mostly print production) and ensuring this studio’s competitive pricing
- Key contact for IT supports, working with IT director to the team have the right tools to do the job, and ensuring file servers are back upped regularly
- Some general office management responsibilities such as ordering stationery and office supplies
- Champion a positive and optimistic creative culture
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 8 years experience
- Absolute attention to detail, quality and timely execution of tasks is paramount
- Proven experience in workload planning and rectifying issues before they become problems
- Strong Creative instinct, a creative mind and the ability to see the entire creative vision
- Strong finished art skills and ability to do retouching
- Knowledge of processes and disciplines within a creative agency environment
- Can-do attitude with a career-focused nature
- Works well under pressure
- Excellent layout and typography skills
- Passionate about the industry
