COSCO SHIPPING Logistics launches Western Land-sea Trade Corridor logistics channel

COSCO Shipping Logistics has launched a new logistics channel connecting the Western Land-sea Trade Corridor and the International Express train.

On 28 June, the first batch of 40-foot containers of Vietnamese transit goods were loaded on a freight train running through the New Western Land-sea Trade Corridor from Qinzhou Port to Chengdu.

The batch of goods departed from Haiphong Port in Vietnam. After transiting through Qinzhou Port of Beibu Gulf, it was bound for Chengdu by the new Western Land-sea Trade Corridor freight train.

The batch of goods was then loaded onto the “Chengdu-Europe” Express Train and transported to Europe.

The launch marks the successful operation of an international freight train by COSCO SHIPPING Logistics on the New Western Land-sea Trade Corridor and the creation of a new transit logistics service customised for customers.

The new logistics channel extends the transport business through the Western Land-sea Trade Corridor from the current simple domestic import and export business to the international transit business to improve logistics efficiency and reduces the cost for customers.

Also today COSCO SHIPPING announced a new service route from Beibu Gulf Port to the North America West Coast.

Last month COSCO SHIPPING SPE. signed an agreement to enter the blockchain-based Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN).
