CMA CGM’s first cargo flight set on 8 March

CMA CGM AIR CARGO to make first flight March 8 from Liege to Chicago

After forming its new air cargo division 2 weeks earlier, CMA CGM is set to begin operations on 8 March with its first cargo flight between Liege and Chicago.

The company’s first Airbus A330-200F will start regular operations from Liege in Belgium to Chicago and will be joined by a second one on 16 March, which will also serve the US market.

CMA CGM’s A330-200Fs will be based at Liege Airport (LGG), the company noted, which will be operated by Air Belgium.

Meanwhile, general sales agent ECS Group will be in charge of marketing the air cargo division’s services, whilst forwarder subsidiary CEVA Logistics will take care of blocked space agreements on board its aircraft.

Xavier Eiglier, director of CMA CGM Air Cargo, said the launch represents a significant event in developing a comprehensive range of logistics services for the Group’s clients.

These initial destinations in the United States demonstrate our desire to offer our clients international coverage, serving the biggest freight airports in the heart of major economic areas,” Eiglier noted.
