A manufacturer of safes, vaults, and other security equipment will establish a fourth facility in Southeast Ohio and add an anticipated 200 new jobs.
Hamilton Security trustee John McGraw told the Clermont Sun that the company will construct a new building on a 13-acre property in Union Township, Ohio. McGraw credited a long-standing relationship with municipal officials for the expansion. The company operates another nearby facility, and the town took steps to resolve utility issues at the new site.
The township earlier this year approved a tax increment financing district to extend gas and sanitation lines and make road improvements to accommodate the then-unnamed proposal, according to the Sun. Local officials could also make the parcel a joint economic development district; McGraw suggested that the infrastructure improvements could help draw other manufacturers to the Cincinnati suburb.
“With this cooperation, we not only kept the current Hamilton Safe jobs in Union Township, but we will now see this new expansion,” he told the paper.
In addition to safes and vaults, Cincinnati-based Hamilton also produces security windows and doors, pneumatic tube systems, and electronic security systems. Its other manufacturing facilities are located in Mason and Amelia, Ohio.
