Heelis said the concept of the Dream Factory has been around for 10 years and represents how the company presents the system to the industry and emphasizes that they are implementing it as a factory-wide project.
“We are the largest global automation supplier in the entire industry with equipment installed throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. We are truly a global company and well known by the major tire companies,” Heelis said.
Cimcorp has sold more than 2,500 systems in over 40 countries on six continents.
With many new greenfield plants having been built over the past several years that are automated, efficient and modern, Heelis mentioned that something similar has to happen with the brownfields to increase their levels of automation, productivity and volume. Cimcorp realizes the brownfield plant solutions—especially in Western Europe and North America—will become a key part of Cimcorp’s business going forward.
For greenfield plants, it is key to plan the factory footprint in concert with the automation, and lay out the plant with how the automation will perform. Cimcorp’s parent company is Japan-based Muratec Group, which is one of the top five companies in the world for factory automation.
Heelis said that Muratec has been able to include a number of their automation packages into the Dream Factory concept.
While the tire industry continues to automate, Cimcorp is continuing to find ways to use the latest and most-promising technology as part of its automation packages.
“Automation within the tire industry will continue to evolve and develop. It is a growth industry with the two levels, physical (mechanical and robotics) and software,” Heelis said. “We have plans in the future to incorporate growing technologies such as artificial intelligence and internet usage.”
Cimcorp manufactures most of its products in Europe, with some manufacturing in Canada. The company has business locations in several countries, including Finland, Canada and the greater Atlanta area. Subsidiaries are located in Spain, Germany and India.
