Christmas gift and toy distribution held at MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — During the holidays, it can be easy to take all the presents, food, and fun for granted.

But some don’t have the chance to celebrate.

That’s why the  MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary stepped up to host a gift and toy giveaway.

Toys were available for kids up to 17 years old. There were even gifts for adults.

Dorothy James sang and Santa and Elmo even paid a visit too.

“When people are homeless or living in poverty, there’s this experience of feeling left out. So this way we bring everyone in, this is room for everybody at the table,” said CEO Sister MacCanon Brown.

This is the second year the sanctuary has hosted the event.
