China: Food giant to construct Asia’s biggest pet food factory in Tianjin

(MENAFN) According to the firm, U.S. confectionery and pet food giant Mars plans to construct Asia’s biggest modern pet food factory in north China’s Tianjin Municipality.

The plan’s launch ceremony was held in the municipality earlier this week. As said in its arrangement, the factory will cover about 110,000 square meters and has an investment of more than USD100 million. Its yearly production will surpass 250,000 tons after reaching complete capacity.

The scheme will not only bring more competitive pet food goods to the Chinese market, but will play a helpful role in the shared improvement of local upstream and downstream enterprises, according to sources with the Tianjin economic and technological development zone, where the factory is located.
