China extends industrial power cuts raising supply chain concerns

The Chinese province of Sichuan extended compulsory production suspension for some manufacturers by another five days to Aug. 25 as the ongoing power shortage worsens due to extreme heat and drought conditions, U.K. Time News reported. The industrial power cuts threaten the supply of raw materials, grains, and other goods, exacerbating existing supply chain disruptions caused by the Russia-Ukraine war, and China’s COVID-19 lockdowns.
