Cheesecake Factory opens in Katy Mills Mall to much anticipation

The popular restaurant chain’s newest location opened Saturday in Katy Mills Mall, the sixth of its kind in the Greater Houston area.

“Houston has been a wonderful area for us since we opened at The Galleria back in 1995,” said Alethea Rowe, Cheesecake Factory’s senior director of public relations. “We were looking for a location in west Houston and thought the Katy Mills Mall was the perfect spot.”

The Katy location is approximately 8,000 square feet with a 1,500-square-foot outdoor patio.

Best known for its titular desserts and expansive menu, The Cheesecake Factory typically opens in or adjacent to malls, Rowe said. That made Katy Mills Mall a natural choice for a location on the west side of Houston.

Katy’s new restaurant will feature more than 30 cheesecake offerings and more than 250 menu items. Each item is made in-house from scratch, Rowe noted.

“I like to say that whatever you’re in the mood for, you can find it on our menu,” Rowe said.

As part of a promotion to celebrate the new location, Rowe said that 25 cents from every slice sold of the new Classic Basque Cheesecake through July 29, 2023, will benefits Feeding America and its network of food banks.

Since 2008, The Cheesecake Factory has donated more than $5.9 million to Feeding America through featured cheesecake sales.
