CEVA launches new cargo booking platform

Freight forwarder CEVA has launched a new booking portal as it continues its digital drive.

The system will initally be used for ocean transport but will eventually also be rolled out for air and road, although it has yet to announce a timeline for the roll out to these modes.

The myCEVA platform “gives customers greater control over the booking process while simultaneously improving efficiency through greater process automation”, CEVA claimed.

CEVA said that after a pilot phase in the US in May, myCEVA is working towards covering all transport modes in every region of the world and is being launched in a phased manner with ocean freight customers using specific trade lanes from/to the US, China and India.

During Summer 2020, myCEVA will become available for importers and exporters located in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam and the UK; and by Fall 2020, myCEVA will be widely open to Europe, South-East Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Progressively, the platform will become fully multimodal and multicarrier, thereby simplifying the management of shipments, the forwarder said.
