In January, Factory Works collected stories about the community’s personal experiences with the Pajama Factory. These stories served as an inspiration to artists to craft design proposals for a permanent mosaic to be installed on two pillars at the entrance of the Pajama Factory’s building, and candidates for the final design were displayed during February’s First Friday.
On March 6, Factory Works will finally announce the two winning mosaic designs in the middle of the “Cast Your Heart” event, which will run from 6 to 9 p.m. The Owner’s Award and the Board of Directors’ Award will be given to the artists of the two winning designs. The event is free and open to the public; anyone of any age is welcome to attend.
Over the Pajama Factory’s 100 years of operations (under its current and previous iterations) and Factory Works’ nine years, the Factory has been an important part of Williamsport’s diverse and energetic community.
The mosaic project is being completed in collaboration with the Heart of Williamsport Project, part of the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership, and financial support is being provided by the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.
