Seafood restaurant chain Captain D’s has recruited a new chief supply chain officer to fill the seat of one of the first executives President and CEO Phi Greifeld hired nearly a decade ago to help him revive the company.
Brad Clark has joined Nashville-based Captain D’s with more than 20 years of procurement and food safety experience. Most recently, he was vice president of supply chain at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro for seven years. Before that, he spent more than two decades at the Unified Food Service Purchasing Co-op, which is best known as the purchasing group for YUM! Brands.
In his new role, Clark replaces Janet Duckham, whom Greifeld recruited in late 2010 to be VP of purchasing and who had been chief supply chain officer since early 2017. Duckham retired at the end of February from Captain D’s and the restaurant industry in general.
“Brad’s track record of sourcing and providing high quality products, while aligning with restaurant profitability goals, is a key element of our strategic roadmap for further growth,” Greifeld said in a statement. “We are delighted to have someone with Brad’s track record and experience join the executive team.”
Captain D’s has more than 530 restaurants in 22 states. Greifeld and his team last year opened 15 stores and signed eight franchise agreements to expand in the Southeast, Midwest and Utah. In 2020, the company plans to add another 25 locations, focusing on Florida and Illinois among others, while looking to ink more franchise deals for the future.
