Camp and Facilities Guide – Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Wiki Guide

This page of IGN’s Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes wiki guide contains everything you need to know about the Camp and the many camp facilities introduced in the game. Use this page to learn what all the facilities do. We’ve covered everything from how to train, to cooking meals, and even how to upgrade facilities. We’ve split each facility into its own section to help you find what you’re looking for. If you need help with conversations during expeditions, we’ve got a whole page just for that— check out our Expeditions Guide Here.

Camp

The structure of your camp will be the same regardless of which house/story you’ve chosen.

Activity Points and Training Points Work

Once you reach chapter 4, each chapter will start you at your unit’s camp. While at the camp, you’ll be able to interact with all of your units, as well as participate in different activities throughout the camp. As you progress through the game, you’ll develop and upgrade various camp facilities. These upgrades raise your Camp Level and rank. The higher the Camp’s rank the more Activity Points and Training Points you’ll have available in each chapter. Once your camp reaches S Rank, you’ll raise the Activity and Training points amount to eight per chapter.

Activity and Training Points are displayed at the top of the screen while you’re at your camp. You only have a set number of points in each chapter; however, there are ways to recover points, usually gained as awards from capturing territories or from Surveying different locations. All Activity/Training Points are recovered at the start of the next chapter. Unused points never carry over between chapters.

Battle Suggestions

advertisement

This isn’t really a facility but is something that occurs in your camp. Once you reach Part 2 of the story, you’ll unlock Battle Suggestions. At the start of each chapter, you’ll listen to three battle suggestions. Each will provide a specific effect for your entire army during that chapter. You must pick one. The units that made the suggestion will get a boost to their Morale and gain support points with you.

It is possible that another unit to introduce a new Battle Suggestion later in the chapter. You’ll be able to swap to the new one or keep the initial one instead. Depending on what the new suggestion is, it is possible that you’ve already taken the benefits of the first suggestion. If you’ve already used up the effects from the first adopting the new suggestion is a good strategy.

Facilities will unlock steadily as you progress through the game’s story. In Chapter 4, the game will introduce you to the first few facilities. Each facility has its own special uses and requires its own types of materials to be upgraded. Once you unlock the Facilities Master, you can view all facilities and the materials needed to upgrade them. Please see the following sections for information about each of the facilities.

Non-Upgradable Facilities

These are locations in your camp that feature special interactions and have no upgrades.

  • Strategist: By speaking to the strategist, you can view the chapter’s War Map and deploy for battle. You can also do this by pressing ZR any time you’re walking around the camp, or by interacting with the gate on the northeastern corner of the camp, just past the Gatekeeper
  • Facilities Master: You can visit the Facilities Master to view all facilities and the materials needed to upgrade them. All facilities share the standard “Building Material” depending on the tier of the upgrade. Use the Facilities Master to plan out which upgrades you’ll want first and use your materials efficiently. Check out our Walkthrough to see where and which types of materials you can find in each chapter.
  • Reward Master: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has a long list of achievements you can earn by completing certain criteria in the game. You can visit the Reward Master to view the list of achievements. Completing achievements earns you points. As you accumulate points, you’ll earn rewards— all of which you can see from the start. Note: It is not possible to complete every achievement in one playthrough.
  • Record Keeper: The Record Keeper allows you to select and replay any battle you’ve already completed, but with the current classes/equipment you have now. Auxiliary Battles are best used to work on getting missed S Rank Rewards. Auxiliary Battles function like real battles, so it is still possible to gain experience and support points. You cannot gain new characters as a result of the battle, but if playing on Classic Mode, it is possible to lose units if they die in battle. Auxillary Battles do not require any Activity Points.
  • Personal Quarters: At your tent, you can interact with your journal to view documents you’ve collected and change the appearance of your units. You can also spend renown to purchase a limited number of items, however, you’ll want to save your renown for when you play through New Game+ to unlock special rewards.

Training Academy

The Training Instructor allows you to do a variety of things related to your unit’s warrior combat. This is where you can use Seals to acquire new warrior classes for your units. You can also level up units and as well as participate in Mock Battles. Mock Battles do not earn you experience or support points. They are simply used to practice your attacks. fighting skills and explore combos.

How Training Works

Training allows units to earn experience for their current class. Each Training you conduct will use one Training Point. As you upgrade the facility, you’ll be able to train more units at the same time and even increase the effectiveness of the training. A unit will earn more class experience if they specialize in that class (have a blue arrow), or if their training with a partner whose weapon level is the same as theirs or higher.

You can allow a unit to train in any class that they’ve already acquired. This can even be a different class than the one they’re currently equipped as. That way, you can keep your unit equipped for battle while you try training in different classes. Since units also earn class experience in battles, you can essentially have a unit be earning experience in two different ways.

advertisement

You can use the optimize function to have the game decide which units will be paired up and which class they’ll train in. You can also do this manually. When selecting a unit, you’ll be able to see their support levels as well. Partners with higher support levels have a greater chance of Perfect training sessions. Sessions can be Nice, Great, or Perfect. The better the session the more class experience the units will gain.

How to Aquire Warrior Classes

There are four tiers of warrior classes: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Master. Every unit will have all the Beginner classes unlocked. All classes are split into their own branches that dictate the weapon that the unit can use and the weapon level, it requires.

In order to advance to the next tier, the unit must master the previous tier’s class. This is done by using that unit and class in battles, or by training. As they gain mastery in their class the unit will earn abilities for that class. You can change abilities in the Convoy menu. Some abilities can be used by different classes, while others are locked to their specific type.

Once a unit’s class is mastered, they’ll have a star next to that class and will be able to acquire any classes in the next tier of that branch. Every time a unit acquires a new class in a new tier, it’ll raise their weapon level. Classes vary between male and female units. Males units cannot mount Pegasis or become Gremories. Female units cannot acquire Brawler classes.

  • Myrmidon Branch: All these classes use swords. Each tier raises a unit’s weapon level for swords
  • Soldier Branch: All these classes use lances. Each tier raises a unit’s weapon level for lances.
  • Mastering the Fighter class splits into three weapon/class types: Axes, Archer, and Brawler.
    • Axe Branches: All classes that branch from Armored Knight or Brigand use axes. Each tier raises a unit’s weapon level for axes.
    • Archer Branch: All these classes use bows. Each tier raises a unit’s weapon level for bows.
    • Brawler Branch: These classes are exclusive to male units only. All these classes use gauntlets. Each tier raises a unit’s weapon level for gauntlets.
  • Monk Branch: All these classes use tomes. Each tier raises a unit’s weapon level for tomes.

How to Aquire Advanced and Master Classes

Even if your units have mastered all the classes on a branch, they’ll be unable to acquire an Advanced Class until you upgrade the Training Grounds with the “Advanced Class Certification Exam.” This requires Veteran Training Gear. You’ll encounter this material around Chapter 7. The Elite Training Gear materials needed to unlock the Master Class Certification Exam will become available later shortly early in Part 2 of the story.

After unlocking the Advanced Class Certification Exam upgrade at the Training Grounds, you’ll be able to purchase the advanced seals at the Item Shop and Anna’s. This is also the case with the master seals.

Kitchen Master

You can visit the Kitchen Master to cook meals for your units. Each meal you cook uses one Activity Point. Different meals offer different effects that last for every battle during the current chapter. Different effects can stack too! While selecting a meal, use the X button to change the display and view which meals are favored by which units.

advertisement

You can select two units to dine with you during each meal. The meal effects apply to all units, however, the units you dine with will increase their support points with you and with each other. Units eating their favorite meals will earn more support points.

The cooking portion is not a minigame; it’s just an animation to show whether or not you cook a Nice, Great, or Excellent meal. The better the quality, the more support points the units will earn. You can press the + button to skip this animation.

Chores Master

At the Chore Master, you can spend Activity Points to greatly increase support points between two units. Select the chore and a pair of units. The success of the chore will depend on the pair’s support levels. There are also facility upgrades that can increase the chances of success. When a chore is completed more successfully, it’ll yield more support points for the units, a gift or resource material, and a tiny amount of Renown.

You’ll be unable to have the same unit complete multiple chores during the same chapter, UNLESS, you capture one of the territories in the War Map. This is also true for any other activities like Cooking Meals or Expeditions. If you’ve already captured all the territories, you’ll need to wait until the next chapter for them to be able to perform that activity again.

Upgrading the Recreation Quarters – Kitchen Master/Chore Master/Expeditions

advertisement

The specific upgrading materials for this area are “Furnishings.” Furnishing will allow you to upgrade the number of types of meals you can cook (you can also find new recipes by surveying different areas), the success rate of your cooking, the success rate of chores, and the locations you can travel to on Expeditions. The expedition locations do not seem to impact the overall result of an expedition. Therefore, when upgrading the Recreation Quarters, you can consider leaving those upgrades for last.

Tactics Instructor – Tactics Academy

The Tactics Academy becomes available at the start of chapter 6. This unlocks the instructions for gaining an extra Warrior Gauge. Keep in mind— this doesn’t unlock an extra Warrior Gauge—it unlocks the lesson at the academy that allows units to learn the tactic. This means that after you’ve unlocked the upgrade, you’ll need to visit the instructor and pay to teach the tactic to your units.

Learning Tactics does not use any Activity Points, but they do cost money for every unit learning it. You can select multiple units at the same time by pressing the +button for Group Session. You can even remove individual units from the selection if you wish.

Whenever you recruit new units make sure to visit the tactics academy if you’ve already taught your former units. It sucks sending out a new unit in battle, only to discover that unlike the rest of your army, they only have one Warrior Gauge.

Most Useful Tactics – How to Upgrade Tactics Academy

advertisement

The materials needed to upgrade the tactics academy are called Combat Manuals. These are few and far between, so you should plan out which upgrades you’ll want to earn first. The second tier of upgrades in the tactics academy offers three options. The first two involve healing. Unlocking concoctions allow a unit to heal more health per healing item they use. Unlocking an extra healing item… gives you an extra healing item. See what suits your play style best. You may find it better to have 3 regular healing items instead of 2 more potent ones.

The most valuable of the second-tier upgrades is the one that increases your ability slots to 6. If you haven’t been training your units much, however, you may not really need to purchase this upgrade first. In that case, you may find that upgrading one of the healing tactics would be a better first choice. If you don’t get it as the first upgrade, the extra abilities should be your choice. Once you’ve started training multiple units in various classes, this upgrade will become much more valuable.

Supply Master

The Supply Master collects resources for you between battles. After every battle, you can collect supplies by visiting this location. These resources are ingredients for cooking meals, materials for upgrading facilities, or ores used at the blacksmith. Smithing Stones are used at the Blacksmith to upgrade certain weapons.

The Supply Master can also use smithing stones, but they’re used more like currency. You can trade equipment or resources to the Supply Master in exchange for smithing stones. You can then use the smithing stones at the Supply Master to trade them for other types of resources and building materials.

advertisement

Upgrading the Supply Master

At first, the items you can trade with the supply master are limited but can be increased with each expansion upgrade. Once it’s fully expanded you’ll be able to trade for the highest quality building materials and even Umbral Steel. The upgrades for receiving more smithing stones per trade, each increase the number of stones you receive by 1. Similarly, upgrades that lower the cost of items when you trade, each decrease the cost of the item by 1.

Blacksmith

At the blacksmith, you can use various ores to upgrade weapons. Forging a weapon allows you to upgrade its might (how strong it is) and its durability (number of points used for combat arts). Each weapon has a limit to the amount of forging that can be done to it. You can increase the limit on certain weapons by reforging them. This resets the forging done on a weapon and increases the limit.

Select Repair Weapon to repair the rusted weapons you’ve collected. You won’t know what kind of weapon you’ll end up with; so it’s a bit of a gamble. Unleash Effects will be unavailable until part 2 of the story, and we’ll explain it in more detail in the next section.

How to Unleash Effects – Upgrading Hero’s Relics

Hero’s Relics are extremely powerful weapons and equipment that can only be used effectively by people with Crests. However, you may notice that your Hero’s Relic is actually much weaker than other common weapons. This is because you’ll need to unleash its effects at the blacksmith for them to truly shine.

advertisement

The Crest-Based Smithing Technique is a tier 4 upgrade at the blacksmith. The materials needed for this are called Master Smithing Sets which won’t be available for you until part two of the story. After it’s unlocked, the blacksmith can unleash the effect of a Hero’s Relic. This doesn’t come cheap though. This costs 12,000G (and that’s with the full blacksmith discount)! That’s not all, you’ll also need a large amount of special ore. Most Hero’s Relics will require ten Umbral Steel, which is the rarest of the ores.

The cost of unleashing the effect of a Hero’s Relic is worth it. Especially when it’s equipped by the unit with its matching Crest. This allows for additional bonuses like special combat arts. You don’t need to have the matching Crest to wield it though. Anyone with a Crest can wield a Hero’s Relic. Non-Crest bearers will receive constant damage in battle if they’re equipped with a Hero’s Relic.

Market Place – Item Shop and Armory

The Item Shop sells a variety of things. You can buy gifts to give to your units and increase their support points. We have a table showing everyone’s favorite and least favorite gifts. You can also purchase ingredients for cooking. The item shop has a limited stock. It restocks itself at the start of the next chapter. There are also Survey Spots that can restock the shop during the same chapter.

Advanced and Master Seals will become available for purchase after you’ve upgraded the Training Grounds with those abilities. The discounts and varieties attributed to the item shop also apply to the Armory. The Armory only buys and sells weapons and equipment.

Battalion Guild

advertisement

Battalions work very differently in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes compared to the way they worked in FE Three Houses. In this game, battalions are assigned to a unit to provide defense against certain enemies. The unit’s Authority (the flag icon) determines the rank of the battalion it can receive (E-A). A unit’s authority level raises every time they acquire a new warrior class that they specialize in. Battalions will abandon the unit if the unit receives too much damage in battle. This is the battalion’s “endurance.”

Upgrading the Battalion Guild

Prioritize upgrading the Qualification and the Cost of the Battalion first. Then focus on raising battalion endurance. Leave the encampment upgrades as the final ones in each tier. The number of battalions you can hire isn’t really a major factor because you can always dismiss any extra battalions that you no longer use.
