California man accused of meth distribution in Ellsworth County

ELLSWORTH COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a California man for alleged drug distribution, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Adrian Vargas-Ramirez, 38, of Paramount, Calif., is charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The crime is alleged to have occurred Oct., 17, 2019, in Ellsworth County, Kan.         

If convicted, the defendant could face a sentence of not less than 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $10 million.

The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Lindsey Debenham is prosecuting.
