Background Information

As of the 31 January 2022, Nuclear Waste Services has been set up to combine all of the NDA Waste activities, giving greater flexibility and driving improvements and synergies across the NDA Group. This brings together LLW Repository Limited, Radioactive Waste Management Limited and the NDA Integrated Waste Management Programme (each with their own IT teams, infrastructure, and systems).

Role Description

The LLWR Graduate Scheme is a two-year training programme which will help build the foundations for a future potential career within the organisation.

The programme includes:

  • Induction to the Business and Site Tour
  • Allocation and access to a Mentor
  • Mandatory Training
  • Graduate Awareness in Nuclear (GAIN)
  • Behavioural Skills Training
  • Attendance at external meetings and events
  • Membership of relevant Professional Body with a view to working towards chartership
  • Technical Training
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Activities
  • Leadership and Management Training
  • Project Management Training
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Presenting to LLWR and Nuclear Waste Services Executive Team
  • Business Area Rotation
  • Regular Performance Reviews
  • Personal Development Plan (PDPs)which aligns to relevant Career Pathway

We will support this graduate to develop options around PMO experience, project and programme management. Our intention is to develop a PMO or Programme Manager using solid project tool sets to initially understand the career route.

Duties

As a member of the Integrated Waste Management programme office team, the role will include:

  • Monitoring and reviewing of benefit map, benefit realisation plans, stakeholder management,
  • Collation of performance reports for the projects and programme
  • Leading a project of activities to develop project management skills
  • Preparing project briefs and developing and supporting governance arrangements including project and programme boards.
  • Aiding the production of programme reporting systems to include project, programmes, procurements and other work activities
  • Supporting the management of risk registers including review of mitigation actions.
  • Analysis of performance to identify insights and escalate to PMO action
  • Managing the library of programme documents for the IWM Programme
  • Preparing material to use for external engagement with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
  • Acting as a meeting secretary for programme boards
  • Preparing underpinning documents to support business case development

Essential Skills/Qualifications

Honours Degree in Business related subject
