Bubs to buy milk product factory in China – Australian Manufacturing Forum

Goat milk and infant formula manufacturer Bubs Australia is to buy a factory in China to launch a Chinese focused ‘Created by Bubs’ range of goat milk products.

The company said it would buy a factory owned by its Chinese distributor, Beingmate in Beihai China and seek a State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) brand slot.

This would allow local production and general market distribution of Bubs China label Goat Milk Infant Formula using 100 per cent Bubs Australian goat milk.

Bubs will retain full ownership of the Bubs brand intellectual property and the proprietary Bubs China formulations designed for Chinese babies in lower-tier cities.

Bubs will also continue progressing SAMR registration for an Australian made ‘super-premium’ product to be produced at its Deloraine facility, which will be aimed at tier-one cities.

The company intends to replicate this ‘Created by Bubs’ localisation strategy in other jurisdictions to accelerate global expansion into markets with similar regulatory requirements.
