ONE of Bolton’s youngest entrepreneurs is realising a lifelong dream by opening a major new high street premises for the business he started aged just 16.
Adil Patel, now 22, is the founder, owner and managing director of Adil Electronics; one of the few Hikvision authorised wholesalers, selling CCTV, intruder alarms and other security equipment throughout England.
The young businessman has worked hard since his teenage years as a student at Bolton Sixth Form College to make his dream a reality.
Adil said: “I have for all my life dreamt of owning a successful business and being an authorised wholesaler of the world’s number one video surveillance manufacturers Hikvision.
“I have worked day and night from the age of 16 to get to where I am.
“This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my family, especially my father who dreamt this with me and helped me bring it to reality, and all those within the educational system who helped me develop as a person.”
Adil’s father helped him to set up his business working first from home and then their current backstreet garage which they transformed into a stunning trade counter/showroom, until they were able to move into a large high-street business premises on St Helens Road that is set to open later this month.
During that time Adil continued to study computing, graduating just this year.
Adil said: “I am proud of the business empire I am building purely on the foundation of hard work, no funding and loans from the bank.”
Adil Electronics now gives back to the community by providing local installers with new jobs, working with charities, religious institutions – mosques, churches and temples – and is also working with Bolton Sixth Form College to provide work experience placements.
Careers and employability advisor, Emily Dover said: “Adil is now part of our alumni and is giving back to the community by offering long term work placements to our BTEC students.
“We are delighted to see his business move to a much larger unit and wish him every success in the future as we continue to work with him to create opportunities for our learners.”
