Equipment manufacturer Bobcat recently announced plans to build a new assembly plant in Minnesota.
The $13 million investment will add 225,000 square feet of production capacity in Rogers, a Twin Cities suburb.
The new location will create 100 new full-time positions this year.
The new factory is part of Bobcat’s expansion plans, which also includes a recent $26 million expansion in Litchfield, Minnesota and a $70 million investment in Statesville, North Carolina.
The company plans to ramp up hiring over the next 18 months, focusing on assemblers, material handlers and warehouse associates for first and second shifts.
Bobcat expects the Rogers facility to be fully operational by the end of 2022.
The Bobcat brand has been around since 1958, making compact equipment, including loaders, excavators, compact tractors and utility products.
In 2007, Ingersoll Rand sold Bobcat to Doosan for $4.9 billion. The brand is headquartered in West Fargo, North Dakota.
