AXA XL has announced the appointment of Theresa Giraldo as senior underwriter for commercial bonds on its political risk, credit and bond team. Giraldo will be based in New Jersey and will work across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
“Theresa brings a wealth of experience in the commercial bonds market,” said Maria Duhart, global head of commercial bonds. “She will be a fantastic asset to our growing team, both as a market-facing expert and as a mentor to our younger underwriters and risk analysts across the US.”

In her new role, Giraldo will be responsible for new business production, underwriting and client and broker relationships. She will work with the leadership team for AXA XL’s East Zone and casualty teams across the US to generate cross-selling opportunities within the company.
Prior to joining AXA XL, Giraldo served as vice president for surety at Marsh.
