Boulder County Farmers Markets
Just because our supply chains are melting down doesn’t mean you have to this holiday season.

Rather than panic about the skyrocketing price of coffee at the grocery store or whether or not your gift for Auntie Marge will arrive on time , take a stroll through the festive bounty at Boulder County Farmers Markets’ annual Winter Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Longmont. You can’t get more local than buying straight from the producer (otherwise known as your neighbor).
We’ve put together a gift guide for shopping our Winter Market this weekend because, with more than 50 food vendors and 60 artisans, you’d better start writing your wish lists now — with a sparkly red pen, if you’ve got one.

Stock up on storage crops
Farmers markets are our bread and butter, and this weekend will be no different. Visit your favorite ranchers and farmers from the summer markets to fill your holiday menus and gather produce for canning, freezing and snacking this winter. Pro tip: If you’ve never tried a storage carrot, you’re in for a treat.
This weekend’s produce selection will include apples, winter squash, onions, carrots, potatoes, greens, radishes, turnips, garlic and more. Local meats will include pork, beef, and lamb — all pasture-raised in Colorado.

Snack spreads and sweets
Gluten-free or gluten-loving, vegan or omnivore, dairy-free or dairy-full, we have pastries and desserts for every type of sugar lover from Moon Racoon Baking, Hinman Pie, The Bread Chic and Kim and Jake’s. We’ll also have local jams, sauces and spreads to pair with bread, pasta, crackers and chips. Local charcuterie tray, anyone?
Give the gift of art
Shop beautiful selections of jewelry, candles, soaps and textiles — all handmade by local artists. The Arvada Ceramic Guild, Goddess Gear and Dana Birke Designs are just a few of the many artisans bringing frame-worthy pieces for the art collector in your life. Local art will include ceramics, jewelry, textiles, fine art and more.
Fuel up mid-shop
Work up an appetite carrying around those bags of purple cabbage you’re making into kimchi for stocking stuffers? Grab a pizza from Lenin’s Wood-Fired Pizza, treat yourself to Pupusas Familia, or devour a dosa from Anji’s Probiotic Kitchen. And would it be a Winter Market without hot cocoa or holiday latte from Fair Isle Coffee?
They call it the most wonderful time of the year for a reason. Don’t let supply chain issues get you down. Shop local to nip last-minute stress shopping in the bud, while supporting your local community. See you Saturday and Sunday, with bells on!
