Austria’s BMTS starts production at Serbian factory

BELGRADE (Serbia), November 27 (SeeNews) – Austrian manufacturer of exhaust gas turbochargers BMTS has started production at its new factory in Novi Sad, northern Serbia, the company said on Friday.

The first parts came off the production line on November 25 and the company aims to reach an annual capacity of two million turbocharging units, BMTS said in a statement.

About 70 employees of the Novi Sad factory were trained at the main plants of BMTS in Austria and Germany, the company added.

In November 2019, the Novi Sad city government said the BMTS factory will have a footprint of 24,350 square metres and will be located in the CTPark Novi Sad industrial zone, developed by Czech Republic-based real estate developer CTP Invest. 

The total investment in the BMTS factory stands at 15 million euro ($17.9 million), CTP Invest said back in November 2019.
