Assistant Merchandiser – Maternity Cover job with Jigsaw

We’re looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join our team. 

 

ROLE PURPOSE 

To assist the Merchandiser and provide support in the planning and trading of the Womenswear department. To assist in the day to day running with an aim to deliver a range that optimises sales, stock and profit.   

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS 

Internal: Merchandising, Retail, Design, Product Development and Logistics.  

External: Suppliers and freight forwarder.  

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Review and forecast continuity lines on a weekly basis; proposing repeats/phasing where necessary.  
  • Guide the MAA in managing intake, allocation of stock, transfers and ad-hoc admin, working closely to develop the MAA. 
  • Produce weekly trading reports to identify and summarise best/worst sellers and propose actions to drive the full price sell through.  
  • Support Merchandiser in range and option planning and delivery phasing to meet sales plan. 
  • Review and update WSSI under Merchandiser’s guidance.  
  • Assist Merchandiser in markdown/promotion planning, guiding the MAA to ensure prices are correctly updated on the system.  
  • Work closely with the Design, Product Development, Ecommerce, Branch and Logistics team, developing and maintaining strong relationships across the whole company.  
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure stock is delivered on time, highlighting risk to the Merchandiser/proposing actions to take.  
  • Summarise analysis for team on price point, sizing, and colour, delivering lessons learnt and assisting in the strategy.  
  • Assist Merchandiser in preparing for sign off, analysing previous performance and collating sign off pack for Senior Management. 
  • Keep up to date with competitor activity in order to make commercially informed decisions.
