AML delivers to Russia – Heavy Lift & Project Forwarding International Magazine

Belgium-based freight forwarder AML has shipped a 955-tonne autoclave from Antwerp to De Kastri, Russia.

The autoclave, measuring 50.5 m in length and 7.95 m in diameter was transported on SAL Heavy Lift’s vessel Svenja to the port of De Kastri, which took approximately 30 days.

Prior to the shipping, the cargo was transported by road using self-propelled modular trailers (SPMTs), then aboard a pontoon on the Albert canal, onwards to the port in Antwerp.

In De Kastri, the autoclave will be transhipped onto a pontoon and moved along the the Amur River until it reaches its final destination; Amursk. It will be used in the gold mining industry in Russia.
