Now, noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has called out those reports and asked them to stop painting a rosy picture. Adarsh tweeted that in reality the advance bookings for both films are below expectations. He wrote, “STOP painting a rosy picture… Let’s get the facts right… The *advance bookings* of #LaalSinghChaddha and #RakshaBandhan are way BELOW EXPECTATIONS… Both dependent on [i] spot bookings / walk-in audience and [ii] word of mouth to put up strong totals on Day 1 [Thu].”

Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are two of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema and as such will warrant the audience to theatres, but, as it turns out, Raksha Bandhan’s slightly shorter run time could actually turn the tide in its favour.
Film producer and business analyst Girish Johar, earlier today took to Twitter to state that Raksha Bandhan‘s run time could actually be a masterstroke against Laal Singh Chaddha. He shared, Run time of #RakshaBandhan of 110mins is a critical MASTERSTROKE by its makers. More shows at mpxs will change BO denominator with more screen time play! #LaalSinghChaddha run time is 165mins ! 1screen will have 4shows of #LSC vis a vis 6shows of #RB.”
Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya, while Raksha Bandhan has Bhumi Pednekar opposite Akshay Kumar.
