Amazon opens third central Ohio distribution center – Business – The Columbus Dispatch

Amazon‘s new distribution operation in central Ohio is officially up and running.

The internet retailer welcomed new associates Monday to the 855,000-square-foot building near West Jefferson to celebrate its first day of operation.

The center employs hundreds of workers who will pick, pack and ship items such as electronics, books, housewares and toys to customers.

The company says it is continuing to hire at the distribution center.

The center, off Rt. 40 west of West Jefferson, is Amazon’s third warehouse in central Ohio, joining those in Etna Township and Obetz. Amazon also operates an Amazon Prime warehouse on the West Side and data centers in Hilliard, Dublin and New Albany.
