MADISON, Wis. — The city of Madison and an engineering firm are discussing plans for an Amazon delivery center on Madison’s east side.
According to a staff report from the plan commission, the city plans to partially demolish the building on 3650 Milwaukee St. and reuse it as an Amazon distribution hub.
The city is awaiting approval of final plans for “a driveway, surface parking and part of a stormwater management facility.”
The report said parking on the adjacent 3630 Milwaukee St. will provide 500 spots for delivery vans, along with 204 stalls for Amazon employees.
The news comes weeks after officials announced the construction of an Amazon distribution center in Beloit that is said to bring 500 jobs to the area.
