On December 23, Profile Precision Extrusions (PPE) completed a move into a new 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that more than doubled its capacity.
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, PPE manufactures complex miniature aluminum extrusions and extruded aluminum tubing for 3M, Boeing, Pentair, and MedPlast.
The company broke ground on the state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion factory on November 11, 2019, and installed its first aluminum extrusion press in summer 2020.
Using proprietary technology, PPE can extrude tube with an outside diameter down to .094″, aluminum with a wall thickness of .010″, and tubing with OD tolerances of +/- .0005″.
PPE’s parts are in everything from disposable surgical instruments and medical diagnostic equipment to commercial aircraft and linear slide systems.
In a statement, Loren Larson, PPE general manager, says the new space is about 250% larger than the company’s old operation. According to Larson, the company grew its customer base in 2020, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
PPE plans to continue investing in the business and will add jobs, as driven by demand.
