Alanaam Factory signs agreement with 3 Spanish firms

Alanaam Factory for Animal Production spreads across nearly 120,000 square metres and contains a contemporary fully equipped slaughterhouse.

Doha: Alanaam Factory for Animal Production announced its expansion plan in the feed sector, as it recently signed an agreement with three Spanish companies to supply the best types of green fodder to meet the increasing demand for feed locally.

Shamlan Al Awadhi (pictured), Executive Manager of Wathnan Holding Group explained that this long-term agreement guarantees the continuous production of Spanish green fodder, known for its quality, to the Qatari market at stable prices especially in light of the current wave of inflation that is sweeping the world subsequently raising feed prices globally.

Al Awadhi indicated that contributing to meet all the needs for fodder in the local market is a top priority within the framework of Alanaam Factory strategy that aims at enhancing Qatar’s food security. While the factory focuses on providing the best types of feed, it also offers competitive prices to support the development of livestock and shepherds, as their access to high quality feed at reasonable prices is an essential pillar of strengthening the livestock sector.

He added that the factory does not sell fodder by “bundle”, but in kilograms. Moreover, it provides a delivery service, as it owns a fleet of fully equipped delivery cars. It also prioritises the rights of consumers and customer satisfaction, as the seller is committed to weighing fodder in kilograms which sets clear and stable prices, enhancing the credibility of the factory on the one hand and providing the best products at the lowest prices on the other.

Al Awadhi said the factory provides a wide range of diverse green fodder, and added that Alanaam Factory aims to build strong long-term relationships with suppliers and consumers, while implementing an expansion strategy to ensure sustainable growth.

The company’s total sale of green fodder in the local market has reached 1,500 tonnes per month, and seeks to increase sales to 3,600 tonnes of green fodder per month during 2022 and 2023. The growth sustainability plan is based on the credibility of the factory locally and its market share which is growing at an accelerating pace, as well as its commitment to measuring the mass of fodder in KGs.

Al Awadhi added that the factory’s activity started in the Qatari market in 2020, the same year that witnessed the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it succeeded in achieving record growth rate of 300 percent during 2021. The factory aims to expand in the market by enhancing its services through: Delivering meat products to homes, Launching an application, providing wider choice of products, and expanding the factory’s facilities.

Alanaam Factory for Animal Production spreads across nearly 120,000 square metres and contains a contemporary fully equipped slaughterhouse, as well as a receiving area and a veterinarians’ office for quality and health control to supervise the slaughterhouse and all the stages of slaughter, in addition to separate hangars for fattening sheep, cattle and camels with an area of 14,000 square metres each.

Moreover, there are nutritionists who supervise the animals to supply them with superior feed and continuously monitor their health status. The factory also contains a display area to receive the animals that are ready to be slaughtered in the places designated for that, according to the Islamic halal way, Al Awadhi said.

He added that the factory adopts the highest standards of occupational safety and security, health requirements and precautionary measures to prevent coronavirus, as a thorough veterinary examination is conducted before slaughter for all livestock to ensure that they are free from possible disease symptoms and external parasites, while specialised butchers carry out slaughter in accordance with Islamic law.
