ADVentura & McKay’s The Conqueror Almirante Shipping Tomorrow

The newest addition to ADVentura & McKay’s The Conqueror line will be on its way to stores tomorrow.

It’s a 6 x 54 toro called the Almirante, and like the other sizes in the line, uses an Ecuadorian habano 2000 wrapper, an Indonesian Sumatra binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaraguan. It also comes in the same boat style packaging that the line uses, which is a nod to the nautical theme of the line. Each box contains 20 cigars, with individual cigars having an MSRP of $13.60.

The company says that this newest size delivers a unique balance in its profile, giving the wrapper enough influence in the overall profile to hit a sweet spot for the blend to shine. The Almirante becomes the fifth size in the line, though not all are available in the United States, as the Cañonero and Marinero vitolas are exclusive to the European market.

  • ADVentura The Conqueror Comandante (5 x 50)
  • ADVentura The Conqueror El Capitán (6 x 60)
  • ADVentura The Conqueror Cañonero (7 x 60)
  • ADVentura The Conqueror Marinero (5 x 52)
  • ADVentura The Conqueror Almirante (6 x 54)

There is also a limited edition extension to The Conqueror, as in December 2019 the company added The Conqueror Emperor’s Edition, a limited edition 7 x 40 lancero with a modified blend. The ligero in the filler was replaced with viso leaves, the next priming down on a tobacco plant that generally offers a milder flavor intensity. The Conqueror Emperor’s Edition was also released in 2020 and 2021.

The cigar is produced at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic.

The ADVentura series is centered around the fictional adventures of ADVentura and his companion, McKay, as they make their way around the world on various adventures. In addition to the stories accompanying the cigars, they are available on the company’s website.

Patrick Lagreid

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I’m a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
