An update below from Creventic on their planned non-Championship 6 Hour event the 6H ABU DHABI, 22-23 January
The provisional entry is growing – now 23 cars and with others keen to join.
The race is a National event and a non-championship race, this means that drivers with a National licence can participate. This allows us to keep the costs low for a team so that also cars from several club-championships can take part in this event.
Next to the GT and Touring Cars, the race is also open for Prototype cars.
COVID-19 Measures (Relaxation Imminent)
At the moment Dubai accepts people to enter by showing a recent negative Covid-19 test.
In Abu Dhabi there is currently a mandatory quarantine rule of 14 days.
For competitors of the 6H ABU DHABI this is not an option if this rule will still be applied by then. In this case the 6-hour event will be hosted in Dubai at the circuit of Dubai Autodrome.
Luckily the last signals from Abu Dhabi, which will host the F1 Grand Prix this weekend are very positive. Yesterday the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for Covid-19 Pandemic released a statement which states that they are working on the resuming of all Economic, Tourist and Cultural and entertainment activities within 2 weeks. This means that the chance that the 6H ABU DHABI will continue has increased.
Logistical Details
Entry fee only € 5.000 including sea freight and fuel for the official sessions and the race
The entry fee is based on 2 cars per container. In case you have 1 car then a combination will be made with another team in consultation.
Loading of the container is still possible until 23 December 2020.
From Antwerp we have a limited amount of bookings available for the HMM Southhampton.
The containers for this boat need to be loaded latest Wednesday 23 December.
The expected date of arrival in Jebel Ali is 13 January 2021, so there is still plenty of time for the race in Abu Dhabi.
