Deputy Procurement Manager – Full time – Fixed term until 30/11/2021
The Central Procurement team is a key strategic resource for the Council.
Following recent structural changes to the team, the Procurement team are seeking to recruit to a Deputy Procurement Manager role.
This role will take a key lead in managing the delivery of the Council’s procurement strategy, delivering day to day management of the team and ensuring the Authority delivers high quality and effective procurement and commissioning activities which are key for effective service provision for residents.
Alongside the wider responsibilities noted in the job description, this role will have a specific focus on high risk and high value projects which are often capital funded in nature.
Key ambitions of the team include:
- Effective delivery of the current procurement strategy
- Development of effective, streamlined and high quality procurement processes
- A commitment to ensure the procurement process is clearly defined and understood by both officers and suppliers
- Embracing digital solutions to both process and procurement activity
The Deputy Manager role is a key role in ensuring that the future strategic ambitions of the procurement function are delivering effective outcomes for Local Authority procurement and commissioning activity.
