Fire at ink factory in Valsad; no one injured

A major fire broke out at an ink manufacturing factory in Gujarat’s Valsad district on Thursday morning, but no casualty was reported, an official said. The blaze erupted around 6 am in the factory located in Sarigam industrial area of Valsad, located about 330 km from Ahmedabad, Collector R R Raval said.

He said while the exact cause of the fire was not yet known, the blaze spread in the premises due to the chemicals used to manufacture ink. “No one was killed or injured in the incident. Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and they took about three hours to douse the flames. Cooling operation is currently underway,” he said.
