August 24 (Renewables Now) – Shanxi Coal International Energy Group Co Ltd (SHA:600546) will hold an 88.5% stake in a joint venture that will establish 3 GW of photovoltaics (PV) manufacturing capacity in Shanxi Province.
The company announced the project on Friday, saying this will be just phase one of a bigger, 10-GW solar manufacturing complex which will use the high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) technology.
The phase-one investment will amount to CNY 3.19 billion (USD 461.4m/EUR 390.3m).
Shanxi Coal’s partners in the venture are Huzhou Junhua Siyue Equity Investment Partnership with a stake of 8% and Ningbo Qixian Enterprise Management Consulting with 3.5%.
