Bomb threat at Macon Amazon warehouse

Bibb County deputies responded to a bomb threat that was called in to the Amazon fulfillment center in South Macon shortly after noon on Saturday.

The caller stated that a bomb was inside the warehouse facility and that everyone needed to get out.

The building at 7001 Skipper Rd. was evacuated, and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Bomb Disposal Unit and K-9 checked for devices. After a search turned up nothing, workers were allowed to return to the building just before 4:30 p.m.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about the incident to contact the office at 478-751 -7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
