Three bidders chosen for diesel train procurement in Latvia / Article / Eng.lsm.lv

The procurement commission of “Passenger Rail” has concluded that three of five bidders meet all the selection criteria and are invited to submit their tenders in the second round of the negotiated procedure, the company said July 31.

In total, five bidders expressed interest in the procurement of eight new diesel trains: “Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles S.A.”, “Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz S.A.”, “Stadler Polska Sp. z o.o.”, “Метровагонмаш” АО and “Public Joint Stock Company” Kryukovsky Railway Car Building Works.

Three of them have been recognized as meeting the criteria set out in the selection rules: “Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles”, “Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz” and “Stadler Polska Sp.”.

These three candidates, whose applications have been found to be relevant, will receive an invitation to submit tenders in the second round if negotiations, which will also include a technical specification. The most economically favorable tender will be selected.

Passenger Rail plans to conclude a procurement contract by December 31 2020.

The procurement for the delivery of eight new diesel trains was announced on May 2.
