Someone recently inside the Cheesecake Factory in Columbia tested positive for COVID-19

COLUMBIA, Md — The Cheesecake Factory confirmed someone recently at their Columbia restaurant, tested positive for COVID-19.

Though it’s unclear if the person is a customer or staff member, the restaurant’s senior vice president, Spero G. Alex, released the following statement.

“Upon learning that someone who tested positive for COVID-19 had been in the restaurant, we immediately notified anyone who had been in close contact with that person to self-quarantine, and out of an abundance of caution, we notified other staff members that someone had tested positive.”

The restaurant wouldn’t say exactly when the person was inside the restaurant, but said the health department was notified and an outside company, who normally cleans nightly would conduct an additional deep cleaning.
