A team has travelled by helicopter to one of Kenya’s most remote corners to search for desert locusts, which threaten to cut off the nation’s food supply if not controlled quickly. (July 4)

BORIS POLO: Our job is to survey and look for dense areas of desert locust infestations, by which we mark spray blocks with GPS coordinates and then send fixed-wing spray aircraft to spray the locusts.
