Freight Futures data to watch: Weekly spot contract settlement changes

It was a mostly positive week for the Trucking Freight Futures markets as gains in the South and East helped push the spot National contract (FUT.VNU202006) higher by 0.4% to $1.480 per mile. On the individual lanes, the LAX to DAL (FUT.VLD202006) contract in the South jumped $0.056, or 3.4%, to $1.723 and was driven by strong freight volumes in the LAX area moving east. In the East, the CHI to ATL contract (FUT.VCA202006) surged $0.041, or 2.8%, to $1.504 while the ATL to PHL contract (FUT.VAP202006) fell 0.4% to $1.922 and the PHL to CHI contract (FUT.VPC202006) dropped 0.83% to settle the week at $0.961.
