Bids Being Taken For Southington Factory Remediation

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Southington officials are now taking bids for remediation work at the old Beaton and Corbin factory site on North Main Street.

Bids are due by July 10 for the project partially funded by the state. Beaton and Corbin was a metal machining and plating business.

The work includes:

  • Digging up 1,200 cubic yards of land contaminated with petroleum, solvents and metals
  • Removing a 1,000-gallon gas tank
  • Revoving a 10,000-gallon oil tank

Plans call for a commercial development at the 1.65-acre site.
