A NOODLE processing factory in Segambut here was slapped with a closure notice by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) for unhygienic conditions at its premises.
Five DBKL officers who inspected the factory found plenty of droppings as well as dark stains all over the floors and walls.
Three foreign workers there were not vaccinated for typhoid.
“They were also found not to be wearing an apron or head covering when handling food, while the toilets were smelly and dirty.
“The equipment and food processing machineries were dirty and in poor condition,” said DBKL in a statement on its Facebook on Wednesday (June 24).
“The factory also failed to appoint a pest control contractor,” said DBKL, adding that the factory structure and location were not suitable for food processing.
The check was done by the Health and Environmental Department via its food quality unit.
“The closure order was issued under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983,” said DBKL.
