New Delhi: Managing director of Kotak Mahindra Bank Uday Kotak on Sunday (May 24) reiterated the cost-competitiveness of Indian talent existing across multiple professions that can help India become the world’s office. He cited an example of technology companies paying a hefty amount to talent in the US when they can get work done at a lower cost in India
“China is the world’s factory, India can be its office! Why should Google pay $200,000 to work-from-home US engineers, when they can cheaply hire Indians here to do the same job on VC. Same with finance analysts, marketing, architects etc,” the banker tweeted.
While referring to the current COVID situation, he said that the country needs to tap into new opportunities in the post-COVID world. He said that “New world creates new opportunities.”
The billionaire bankers tweet comes at a time when the country is trying to attract companies that are looking to move their operations out of China to other countries for favourable ecosystems. Attracting companies and investments at this point will help in generating jobs and help in wealth creation.
