Turkey-based Fevzi Gandur Logistics has been awarded Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification at two of its facilities.
In order to achieve the certification, the company went through several audits carried out by ASB Intl Certification Surveillance, Auditing and Training Service .
The certification covers Fevzi Gandur’s facilities in Buyukcekmece and Istanbul airport.
“The GDP certification shows that we have standards that will fully meet the high service requirements of international pharmaceutical companies,” said Fevzi Gandur logistics business development director Ralph Hemmerling, emphasizing that the company attaches great importance to the required standards.
GDP is a European Union requirement that medicines are obtained from the licensed supply chain and are consistently stored, transported and handled under suitable conditions.
The certification comes just months after the forwarder opened a warehouse at the new Istanbul Airport.
The non-bonded facility measures 2,700 sq m and at the time of opening was one of only four warehouses located at the airport’s cargo city area.
