On Jan. 24, Starboard and its affiliates delivered a letter to Merit Medical with seven candidates to be nominated to the board of directors at the upcoming 2020 annual shareholders meeting. Canyon Capital Advisors reported that it liquidated its entire stake in the student financial-services firm through a repurchase agreement with Navient. The two negotiated a price of $14.77 per share for Navient to repurchase 20,346,464 shares from Canyon in a transaction that closed on Jan. 27. No additional specifics were cited for the divestment.

Elliott Investment Management disclosed that it sold 880,000 shares to the investment bank on Jan. 21. B. Riley agreed to the privately negotiated purchase at a price of $24.47 per share under a $50 million repurchase program that it authorized at the end of October 2019. Elliott now holds a 4.99% interest in B. Riley, equal to 1,301,036 shares.
Axonics Modulation Technologies

Paris-based Andera Partners sold a combined 300,000 shares of the biotech on Jan. 17 and Jan. 22. Those sales were executed at per share prices of $31.50 to $32.30 and leave Andera with an 8.7% interest in Axonics, equal to 2,957,461 common shares. Andera also cited that a partner, Raphael Wisniewski, sits on Axonics’ board, serving as chairman.
